Learning opportunities with the CSU System

The CSU System provides credit and degree programs, free and non-credit courses for community, as well as certificate programs, to make learning accessible. Some programs will be offered at the future CSU Spur campus.

• Free/informal learning opportunities
  • CSU Global Learn: Free and lower cost self-paced courses. No application needed.
  • CSU Extension Grow and Give: Free home scale produce and plant growing resources
  • Osher Lifelong Learning Institute: Member-based learning for ages 50+. Membership fee of $25 required to register and additional class fees vary.  Tuition assistance offered.
  • CSU Online MOOCs: Completely free online courses that change over time, including courses on conflict resolution and preparation for graduate school.
  • Summer K-12 Programming: Includes credit-bearing, academic, and sport program classes for students and youth. Classes vary in format, cost, topic, and age group.
  • Spur Educational Resource List: A list of fun and free educational resources related to food, water, health, and STEM from CSU and partners.
  • Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program: An eight session course that includes nutrition education, healthy shopping tips, physical activity, and a cooking demonstration. Best of all, EFNEP is free for those who are eligible! Each lesson lasts 60 to 90 minutes. Lessons are taught one-on-one or in groups.
• Credit and degree programs
  • CSU Global Academic Programs: CSU Global is available entirely online and is made for the working adult. Tuition is fixed, so students never have to worry about increases in cost per credit.
  • CSU Global General Education Offerings: courses that are guaranteed to transfer between educational institutions, and are focused on advancing careers with a focus on soft skills.
  • CSU Fort Collins Academic Programs: CSU offers a traditional campus experience for students, with more than 30,000 students attending on campus in hundreds of degree programs (undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs).
  • CSU Online Academic Programs: Online coursework (part of CSU Fort Collins) allows students to take courses within their areas of interest, from anywhere in the world.
  • CSU Pueblo Academic Programs: CSU Pueblo, a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution and Purple Heart Campus, has an enrollment of nearly 4,500 students and offers over 50 degree programs (undergraduate, graduate, online, and pre-professional).
  • CSU Pueblo Extended Studies and Online Courses: distance-based programs primarily for part-time students; there are a set of courses available, but courses can also be developed per the request of individuals or groups.
• Certificate programs
  • CSU Extension Certified Colorado Gardener Program: $530 for training equivalent to a 4-credit class
  • CSU Extension Online Certified Colorado Gardener Program: Individual courses range from $40-$60, course packages are also available
  • CSU Online Professional Education: Professional development courses are flexible formats in topic areas like arts, wellness and agriculture. Students can choose between instructor-led courses or go at their own pace with open-entry, student-led courses.
  • CSU Pueblo Online Bootcamps and Certificates: Advance in your industry with classes ranging from bootcamps in cybersecurity and GED exam preparation to digital marketing and nonprofit management certification.

• CSU Spur

  Students who have lived in the 80216 zip code for at least two years are eligible upon admission to a CSU System institution (CSU, CSU Pueblo, CSU Global) for the need-based CSU Spur Scholarship, which grants students in good academic standing up to $2,500 annually for four years. As a need-based scholarship, eligible students receive financial aid packages from their institution of admission; thus, the Spur Scholarship funds may be used for any student needs such as textbooks, housing, or food. The Scholarship will be awarded beginning in Fall 2021.

• CSU Fort Collins
  • CSU Tuition Assistance Grant: Free tuition for income-qualified students. A student will be considered if their Expected Family Contributionis under $17,000 and their adjusted gross income is under $110,000.
  • Partnership Award: $2,500/year for up to 5 years
  • First Generation Award: $4,000/year for 4 years
  • Merit-based Scholarships: $1,000-$4,000/year for 4 years

• CSU Pueblo
  • Commitment to Colorado Award: $1,000/year for up to 4 years
  • First Generation Scholarship: $1,000/year for up to 4 years
  • Merit-based Scholarships: $1,000-$8,000/year for 4 years

   

  TOTAL = Pell + $2,000+/year in scholarships and awards and merit awards of $1,000-$8,000/year for 4 years

• CSU Global
  • Scholarships at CSU Global: Scholarship opportunities exist for people working to enhance their career, who served in the military, are diversity advocates or embody the mission of CSU Global.
  • Affinity discount: The CSU System is exploring an affinity discount for GES residents to attend CSU Global.
